The painting is preserved — never broken into an arbitrary repeat. Follow one work as it crosses from pigment into silk, and finally into worn form.

THE BRIDGE 613 is built on a body of 613 original works by the artist Yoel Tordjman z”l. The number is not a count that happened to land there: 613 is תרי”ג המצוות, the commandments of the Torah, and the artist set it as the size of the body of work he intended to complete. The archive is the source of everything the house makes.
Each headscarf begins there — with a single work, chosen and carried whole into fabric. The artwork comes first; the product follows.
Born in Paris in 1960, in Israel since 1989. Self-taught as artist, writer and designer. Thirty years inside the world of print, art and design preceded the work shown here — and the generations before him were printers, setting sacred books by hand.
His process begins outside the studio: a macro photograph of something ordinary — a stone, a broken fence, a leaf, the pages of a book. Then a hundred and fifty translucent layers, painted digitally with a wireless brush. Then print. Then pigment ink and coloured lacquer worked by hand over the printed surface.
He exhibited in Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Paris and New York, and published two books in 2007. His works are offered in limited, numbered and signed editions.
